Japan's NTT Data To Acquire Dell Systems Unit for $3 Billion

Japan’s NTT Data is purchasing Dells technology services business for about $3 Billion in a bid to grow its business in North America.

“This will be the biggest ever acquisition by NTT Data, which is a part of Japan’s former telephone monopoly” qoutes BBC.

Dell has apparently been looking to sell non core assets in order to increase billions of dollars henceforth of its acquisition of data storage firm EMC Corp for $67 Billion. NTT Data will employ Dell’s 28,000 employees in North America and India.

“In a filing to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, NTT Data said the purchase will enhance its cloud and business-process outsourcing (BPO) services” states BBC.

The firm has been finding new sources of income outside of Japan which is witnessing shrinking and rapidly ageing population.

Bloomberg data states that NTT Data has acquired mostly foreign companies since 2011 and the company has spent over 72 Billion Yen on it.

The competitors of the NTT Data include Tata Consultancy Services, France’s Atos and US firm Cognizant Technology Solutions.
