Users of this WiMax Routers are worldwide in Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Libya, The Philippines, and Ukraine. According to the researchers, these users, apart from everywhere, also have the same security flaws as others. About seven Huawei routers are vulnerable to hacking at any point.
Huawei WiMax Routers Cannot be Fixed From Security Flaws.
One of the researchers, Pierre Kin, alarmed Huawei officials on Oct. 28th, 2015. The notification from Kim to Huawei was that the respective routers were vulnerable because no updates were received from the beginning, and as the days passed, more vulnerabilities were coming across, so just need to fix; in reply from Huawei officials that the Router was no longer support the company and neither they will provide any security patched.
The routers at high-security risk are EcoLife, BM626, WiMax, and CPE – other inbuilt frameworks included in the risk such as BM635, BM626e, BM631a, BM652, BM632w, and BM632. All these devices component are vulnerable to hacking,. Thus still, many users stick to the routers now they perhaps need to jump to another router, basically to D-Link or other Dell routers.
The risk of Router causing trouble to computers – hackers can hack users’ computers with the help of vulnerable routers. About 75 percent of these routers’ users declare packing up with another router rather than any Huawei routers. The researcher Kin also found the latest patch updates come to another router with the vulnerability of unauthenticated information disclosure; in 2013, the patch was released. However, ound vulnerabilities such as cookie stealing and cross-site requests forstill have been found, flaws which are serious vulnerabilities, and the company gradually will not provide any other security patches.
There is no estimated number of users has been found, but it is still challenging to say the exact number of users using the same framework of routers; the researcher Kim suggested that the only solution is to remove all seven unsupported routers; Huawei technical support task which may lead the company at sink and users will not faith on Huawei devices. On October 2015, Kim found a security vulnerability in Huawei 3G routers.
