In the last 12 months, we saw that WhatsApp introduced a series of innovations that improve the application and provide us with features not previously possessed. Such as video calls, end to end encryption of messages, text in bold italics, etc.
However, some of these features do not work on older devices, so, for this reason, the most used instant messaging application worldwide WhatsApp intends to phase out support to these devices so that they can simply focus largely on the service they provide to all those who can already enjoy these features.
Now, the most used instant messaging application worldwide WhatsApp began testing a function that will be helpful to many people: you can delete messages that have been sent (and even delivered) to the recipient. The novelty was discovered by WABetaInfo in beta messaging application for iOS that brings a “revoke” button.
Until then, if you deleted a message in WhatsApp, the content was deleted only from your own device. In the beta, just tap and hold the message, and then tap “revoke” so that it is replaced by something like “the sender canceled the message”, preventing the recipient from reading some bullshit you sent by mistake.

The feature works even for photos and videos as well in individual or group conversations, only for recently sent messages. We do not know some of the details – it is unclear whether you can delete a message just shortly after sending it (as the use of “repentance” of Gmail ) or if this is true for an unlimited time, for example.
The news is present for some users of version 2.17.1.869 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS. While in Android, the new version has not yet come for beta testers.
