SanDisk's New 256GB microSD card is the "World's Fastest"

Western Digital launched the world’s fastest 256GB microSD card with transfer speeds up to 100Mb/s.

The two new cards are SanDisk Extreme MicroSDXC UHS-I and the SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition.

The external storage with microSD cards has always helped us by providing extra storage space that we needed so badly. As we all know, SanDisk is well known for its microSD cards and Pendrives working hand in hand with Western Digital.

Recently, Western Digital had announced the “Fastest ever” 256GB microSD card under the newly acquired SanDisk Brand. Western Digital launched two new MicroSD cards, SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card 256GB and 256GB SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card

Sandisk in a press release said “Western Digital® Corporation (NASDAQ: WDC), a global storage technology and solutions leader, today introduced a new suite of 256 gigabyte (GB) microSD™ cards, which includes The new 256GB SanDisk Extreme® microSDXC™ UHS-I card – the fastest microSD card in its class. The new suite of cards also includes 256GB SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, the first 256GB card optimized for mainstream consumers.”

Dinesh Bahal, vice president of SanDisk product marketing, Western Digital said “Our microSD cards are now at the center of many consumer devices, and we’re excited to not only raise the bar with the launch of the world’s fastest microSD card but to also offer a family of 256GB microSD cards that give consumers the flexibility they need to capture life at its fullest”

According to SanDisk, the new 256GB Sandisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I cards can deliver transfer speed up to 100Mbps which simply allows users to save time transferring large files, as well as write speeds of up to 90MB/s. Moreover, users can also record 45 UHD video up to 14 hours.

Whereas 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition it will be slightly slower but capable of storing more than 24 hours of Full HD video1, and also features premium transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s. This card is best for Android-based devices.

The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, will be available worldwide from August 2016 at the price of $149.99. Whereas, The 256GB SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card will be available worldwide from the fourth quarter of a calendar year at the price of $199.99
