Meet The World’s Most Super-Secure Smartphone That Is Unhackable

The smartphone is dubbed as ‘Solarin’, and it is the most secure smartphone in the world. At least that’s what they say, yes, its creators. This smartphone was actually a start up of Israeli Sirin Labs, with this new smartphone the company aims to reach the top executives in the market segment of large corporations and institutions for whom security and privacy are essential. But this security has its price: from $13,800 for the basic model and it can reach up to $16,560 in the most advanced.

The ‘Solarin’ incorporates the military technology for more advanced privacy that exists today, out of the intelligence agencies, according to Sirin Labs. The company has partnered with KoolSpan, a company specialised in mobile communication security, to integrate AES encryption (256 bits- chip to chip), the same technology used by several armies to protect their communications. It is triggered by a safety switch located on the back of the phone, which can be operatable consequently in a protected mode, presenting a unique interface for calls and fully encrypted messages.

Moreover, the handset comes with a protection against threats Zimperium, which specialises in cyber attacks on mobile phones that work with Google and has already detected and defused many threats that were against the operating system Android.

“The cyber attacks are endemic worldwide. This trend has increased. A single attack can seriously spoil the reputation and finances of a company. The ‘Solarin’ is a pioneer in new privacy features and the use of innovative encryption, to provide customers the peace of mind needed to deal with critical information on their business,” said Tal Cohen, the director and founder of Sirin Labs.

With over two years of research, ‘Solarin’ was developed at the company’s headquarters in Sweden and in Tel Aviv. It consists of more than 2,500 internal components assembled by specialists in watchmaking with the outside designed by renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid. Its structure is composed of a single metal matrix which is used usually in the aerospace industry, also given its absolute stiffness and reinforced with titanium panels to increase their structural strength towards the shock and scratches, Corning Gorilla 4 was used to protect the curve screen and for the rear panel leather is used.

The device offers up to 450 Mbps download and up to 150 Mbps of upload speed, next to the compatibility with the 24 LTE bands, to facilitate their use internationally. It incorporates a new technology for WiFi connection (WiGig) that allows a speed of up to 4.6 Gbps, which enables access to almost instantaneous cloud and sync photos, videos and wireless connections, as well as streaming video in low latency, and a wider bandwidth which is three times more than the most sophisticated smartphones.

The 5.5-inch IPS LED screen and 2k resolution incorporates a 23.8-megapixel camera, with autofocus laser and four shades flash along with a front flash. The sound system utilises three bass loudspeakers, joined by means of an intelligent amplifier to control the volume and distortion. The ‘Solarin’ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and more powerful battery present in the market, with fast charge support and power optimisation algorithms for travel.

“We created the device with the highest degree of privacy, that will be able to operate with more speed than any other phone and built with the best materials in the world. We do not accept the rules of prices and technology that were available. With ‘Solarin’, it will break up these rules,”says Moshe Hogeg, the president of Sirin.

However, this is not the most expensive phone in history. As Vertu, an old luxury brand specialising in Nokia mobile jewellery, launched in the market in 2006, the Signature Cobra, with a price of $310,000. As it brought two inlaid diamonds, two emeralds and 439 rubies. But, only 26 units were sold.
