Basically, Backstage will be a service where shared posts will be displayed in reverse chronological order and the subscribed users can simply follow the news through a timeline and can simply receive notifications. It may be a middle ground between what we know and what Facebook and Twitter offers.

Thus, the Backstage can mark a fundamental change in YouTube, whose sole focus was the video that not even had a very successful integration with its current social network Google Plus.
