Facebook Messenger Now Offers More Than 11,000 Bots
More than 11,000 chat bots have found their way to Messenger since Facebook in April a developer platform launched for bots and just within three months, they have become popular among developers and 23,000 more developers have signed up to use the tools provided by Wit.ai, a Facebook property that automates conversational interactions between users and businesses. As the news was announced by the David Marcus, the vice president of Facebook communication products.
The vice president of the Facebook communication products said that “We’re looking forward to building a future of amazing Messenger experiences powered by the community of developers, businesses and people who use Facebook Messenger every day”.
Now, the new features which were added to make life easier for the interaction with these bots will have the ability to send quick replies. This means that you can choose from several predefined responses, without having to type out the reaction. These proposed responses are determined from the most recent responses you sent earlier to the bot.
The chatbots also got the new features in Facebook Messenger like they can also react with GIF image, audio, video and other file types. In this way, companies can “convey their nature”, as the vice president of Facebook communication products David Marcus writes. Also, bots can now connect the customer’s account, such as the banks or online shops.
In addition, there doubts remain exist about the efficiency of the chat bots. Because, immediately after the launch of the platform, it was found that many bots were slow and long continued to reply answers. Furthermore, it will be easier for the users to provide the feedback to the developers. Thus, the developers can provide better and immediate response or feedback to the users regarding the chatbot through that system.
