Sgt. Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department which provides police services in Cupertino, termed the death of a male employee as an “isolated incident” that poses no widespread public threat. Urena said that sheriff’s deputies were called at 8:35 am. for reporting the presence of dead body in the company’s headquarters.

“They found one individual male down and that he was deceased,” Urena said. “Through further investigation they determined that there were no other individuals involved and they believe it was an isolated incident, and that there’s nobody else on the campus or in the public that is at risk.”

The Santa Clara County Medical-Examiner Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of the person’s death, Urena said.

According to the dispatch audio, it was reported that the person was bleeding from the head and “possibly has a gun,” and was being accompanied by the security. However, few minutes later, dispatchers reported that “a body is in one of the conference rooms with a gun.”

However, the Sheriff’s Department did not confirm that whether anyone had been injured in this incident. The dispatch audio also shows that a deady body was found in a conference room and a gun was found from the site.
