BeautifulPeople.com labels itself as ‘a playground for the aesthetically blessed’. The hackers are reportedly selling personal details of about 1.1 million users which includes their names, addresses, sexual preference, relationship status, phone numbers including messages.

The website was hacked in December 2015, however during that time BeautifulPeople.com said that the hacking took place on a test server and no user information was breached. However, now the data is being sold on dark web. Troy Hunt, an Australian security expert who manages the website HaveIBeenPwned.com told the Forbes that the data has been marketed online, although he isn’t aware about where the data has been sold. Hunt further said that 150 government credentials were used to sign up to the website. “I keep seeing a heap of gov stuff where it probably shouldn’t be,” he tweeted.

In a statement to The Forbes, the website owners said “We can confirm we were notified of a breach on December 24th of 2015 of one of our MongoDB test servers. This was a staging server and not part of our production data base. The staging server was immediately shut down.”

BeautifulPeople.com was denounced last year after expelling thousands of members for not being attractive fairly. Co Founder of the website said “We take no pleasure in removing members, but it is a necessary evil in order to maintain the beautiful community and our prized business model.”

However, various news portals tried to contact BeautifulPeople.com, but it did not response to comment on this matter.
