Google Car is Stopped by Police in The US For Driving Too Slowly

Cops in the USA stopped an unmanned vehicle dubbed as Google driverless car, the reason just for driving slow.

Is there a scene that many people do not expect to see happening anytime soon: a policeman fining one Google Car. Had the Alphabet of the vehicle lost control or was he crossing the tracks at too high speeds? Interestingly, the reason is none of these, but the simple fact that he was following too slow, as the autonomous car is limited to direct up to 25 miles per hour.

Before we continue, it is good to clarify that the vehicle was not fined for that. To what Google itself explains in his post on Google+, the car was stopped by a police curious to understand what was going on.

Check out below what the company spoke about the case:

“Driving too slowly? I bet that humans are not stopped by it so often.

We limit the speed of our prototypes vehicles to 25 miles per hour for safety reasons. We want them to appear friendly and receptive, instead of approaching alarmingly through neighborhood streets.

As this officer, people sometimes call our attention when they want to know more of our project. After 1.2 million miles of autonomous direction (which is the human equivalent of 90 years of driving experience), we are proud to say that we have never been fined!”

As you can see, it seems that fortunately had a happy ending to this case. Still, this raises an important question: will the direction of laws of the countries are prepared to deal with an autonomous car? Let’s wait and see.
